81 All Out is a popular cricket podcast that added a publishing imprint to their activities in 2021. As part of this expansion in their business, they hired me to help them rebrand. This exercise included creating a new print-friendly logo mark (a cross between a spinning cricket ball and the head of a microphone — alluding to their origins as a podcast), as well as the cover design for their new indie publishing imprint's first book: a reissue of War Minus the Shooting, veteran journalist Mike Marqusee's seminal account of the 1996 Cricket World Cup. (Buy the book here.)
In the images below, you can see the refreshed logo mark and a couple of use-cases, along with a comparison of the old logo versus the new one.
Before and after: the image on the left, below, shows the old logo. The one on the right is the new version which has been redesigned keeping print use-cases in mind.
